Troop Background
We are a small, boy-led troop right in the heart of Nazareth Pennsylvania! Troop 78 has been around for over 50 years, and has a long, proud history of producing Eagle Scouts. On average, our roster of boys typically fluctuates between 20 and 30 scouts each year, aged 11 through 17. As a boy-led troop, we offer scouts opportunities to get hands-on experience in leading and doing activities as they progress up the ranks of scouting.
Troop Activities
Troop 78 offers diverse
activities, all of which aim to develop young men into good citizens who
function well as team members but who can also stand out as good
leaders.
All activities are chosen and voted upon by the scouts in the Troop. We try to have one camping trip, and a separate outing each month of the year, and are only off from the end of Summer Camp in July through the beginning of the school year in September. We are fortunate to have a wide variety of camping options to choose from. Some camping trips are focused on achieving a merit badge, such as Orienteering.
