What is the time commitment?
Cub Scouts meet in their dens (with kids in their grade) about 2-3 times per month. A Pack meeting is held for all Cub Scouts and their families once a month. All meetings are held in the evenings at Cheat Lake Elementary in the cafeteria.
We have Girl Dens and Boy Dens that may work jointly together or separately depending on the Leaders.
How much does it cost?
Annual Dues: $90 ($33 to Boy Scouts of America/ $12 for Boys Life Magazine Optional / $45 for the Pack). The money that goes to the pack is used for badges, patches, pinewood derby cars, pack equipment and operating costs.
(Note: Annual dues may be lower at different times of the year based on the month that you join. BSA membership dues and Boys Life are prorated.). When you join in the fall, prorated fees ($60 if join in September) are added to the December recharter fees ($90) so that you do not have to write another check. You are paid through until the following December recharter.
Other: Special outings (camping, special events, etc.) are paid separate and per event. You only pay for activities in which you participate. The pack also raises additional money through fundraising. We ask that each scout sell $250 in popcorn.
Why join the Cub Scouts?
FUN! (Learn about the outdoors, camping, archery, BB guns, model car, boat and rocket competitions, field trips and more!) Girls and Boys also build character, learn life skills, experience adventure and participate in service projects for our community.
More about our Pack:
We are a very family oriented Pack. We encourage all parents to get involved, and siblings may participate in many activities. All the adults in leadership positions are parents of boys in the Pack and are volunteers.
